What to expect, when? Home learning board

All rooms have devised home learning boards, these will contain ideas on what you can do at home with your child to help their development. It will also contain all the fabulous work, photos and input you do at home with your children.

Overview of the rooms

Baby room – in babies this month we will be doing all about insects. We will be making our own insects like ladybird, spider, bumble bees etc… We will also be looking at mini beasts e.g. worms, snails and woodlice. We will be exploring insects in jelly, porridge and dried textures too. Also singing lots of nursery rhymes such as inky wincey spider and there is a worm at the bottom of the garden.
Tweenie Room – this month the tweenies have been interested in growing, we have chosen this topic as tweenies have been interested in looking at flowers. We are discussing how they grow and all the different types of flowers there are and naming the different colours we see. We have started to plant our own seeds and grow our own flowers at the nursery. They have been making their own flowers using various craft items.
Preschool – In Preschool we have been learning all about how to be a “good” superhero. We have talked about how they do good things, how they help people and how they are kind to their friends. We have discussed how we can be Pre-school superheroes by turning on our listening ears, answering questions and being kind, caring and helpful to our friends. In this month we are starting a topic all about spring we are looking at pictures of animals and other living things, looking at life cycles and exploring in our outside space and at forest school to see if we can find signs of these life cycles.

As it is the last term before school we are now having separate Circle times, all our school leavers will be discussing different aspects of school life to prepare them for the upcoming event. We will also be looking at our routine and providing resources in our continuous provision to help the children become ready for school.

PLEASE COULD ALL THE SCHOOL LEAVERS PARENTS BRING THEIR CHILD A PAIR OF TRAINERS IN AS WE WILL BE STARTING PE LESSONS AT NURSERY AND THESE WILL BE AS AND WHEN, SO THEY WILL NEED THEIR TRAINERS AVAILABLE
