School House Newsletter August 2021

Hello all, Unfortunately, on the 27th of August I will be stepping down as manager at School House Nursery. My time as manager has been amazing, I have enjoyed watching every little person grow and develop and developing strong relationships with all my parents. I will be leaving to lecture at Blackburn college to shape new young early years practitioners. This is also allowing me time to train and consult still at School House so I may see some of you when I am popping in. Becky will be taking over as manager I look forward to seeing the amazing things she can do, and I am very excited to work with and support her in her next journey. School House has always been like second home to me, and I will be very sad to not come here every day and will miss every aspect of it. Love Amy x

As we continue to build on delivering high quality care and education for your children it is imperative that all nursery practitioners continue to be highly active, motivated and enthusiastic in their daily role.

One of the key factors for continued success, is having dedicated, motivated and knowledgeable staff. Therefore, it is paramount to continually develop practitioners in their knowledge and hands on experience, working will a varied age range of babies and young children. In promoting this, some staff will be moving rooms, where they can be involved in new challenges, implement new ideas and routines in our continued success in moving forward.

This will commence in September and if relevant, will be notified of your child’s new key worker.

Changes to the EYFS

Over the next term we will be implementing changes to the way we plan and develop your children. In September we will be stopping many aspects of our paperwork, this is to ensure we are spending more time with the children. A practitioner is the most important tool in supporting development within a setting This will allow the staff to spend more time noticing what the children are doing and building on this in the moment to ensure no next steps in learning are missed.

Swimming and Extra Curricular activities

From September, we will be doing swimming lessons and providing extracurricular such as forest, football, and dance. Due to covid 19 we had to stop many of these things but come September we will be trying to get back to a bit more normality. If you would like a swimming place and your child is in Preschool, please ring nursery on 01254 689808 and speak to Becky or Chloe. It is £97.50 for the term, and this will cover 13 weeks.

We look forward to seeing everyone all back together in September, and get running with a fun and exciting term! Thank you for your ongoing support Amy and Team
