Summerfield News August 2021

Hi Everyone
It’s been very exciting this week as we have welcomed two new arrivals to the Summerfield Family. All of the rooms have had visits from our new arrivals every day and have loved holding and stroking the bunnies. Can you and your child think of any names if so please email them into us.

Tomorrow is our Fun/Open Day please don’t be put off by the weather as we have the capacity to hold all games and stalls indoors and you will still have the opportunity to have a look around your child’s room and speak with staff. We have lots of fantastic raffle prizes to be won some of which are afternoon tea for 2, ridgeway farm family ticket, ascent toddler sessions, pure spa and beauty massage, body shop voucher and much more… we also have some fantastic prizes to be won on our tombola 🙂 We hope to see many of you here.

Poppies In poppies this week we have been learning all about the Olympics and the sports that are involved. We have been getting creative making our own Olympic torches and painting Olympic rings. We have been making obstacle courses, running in the garden, jumping, trying out our gymnastic skills on the balance beams and pretended to be synchronized swimmers. We have also enjoyed lots of messy play with flour and water making marks and exploring a dinosaur tuff tray following the children’s interest.
Tulips This week in Tulips the children have enjoyed reading pip and posy we have creating our very own bunny pictures. We have been talking about the seaside and where we like to visit on sunny days. We got creative and made seaside pictures using paint and sand. We have been strengthening our muscles in our fingers making playdough and using the animals to create footprints in the dough. We have also enjoyed creating obstacle courses and moving in a range of ways outside as we have been discussing the Olympic sports.
Buttercups This week in Buttercups we have been exploring dinosaurs the children have enjoyed making lots of dinosaur sounds and exploring the different textures in a dinosaur tuff tray such as sand, grass and gloop. We have enjoy playing with the large soft dinosaurs moving them around the room. We have been getting creative using bubble wrap to paint our dinosaur pictures and we have enjoyed a trip to our local farmers market where we bought some fresh vegetables for our new bunny rabbits.
Holiday Club
This week’s holiday Club has been our busiest yet and we have been getting stuck in learning all about ‘down on the Farm’. We have particularly enjoyed visiting Ridgeway Farm and getting to meet and feed all the animals.
