A Warm Welcome

Our beautiful nursery has been established for over 40 years. We are based in Lytham St Annes in a three-story house within walking distance of many local attractions such as the beach and stunning parks. The local area has lots to offer and we access the local community on a weekly basis providing rich and stimulating learning opportunities for our children.

Here at Summerfield, each child is encouraged to learn through play which makes for a very happy and vibrant place to be. The children are happy and confident and eager to learn. All activities are thoughtfully planned to cater to each child’s individual needs. They are encouraged to be healthy and active and this is evident from the good progress they make with us.

We offer stay and play sessions, settling in sessions, tapestry, extra-curricular activities, outdoor play, healthy eating and regular outings for our children. At Summerfield, we pride ourselves on our flexibility. We are open all year round and only close on bank holidays. We also offer flexible hours within our opening times to suit the needs of our working families.

Our Rooms

We have three very spacious play rooms, which are thoughtfully planned and laid out to ensure they provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children to develop and flourish in. We also have a large upstairs space which caters for mother and toddler groups and is also used for our school children. The outdoor space is a beautiful natural area providing a safe space for the children to explore and enhance their physical skills.

Our baby unit is made up of three large play rooms, a sheltered and secure outdoor space accessible in all weather, a private changing area and small preparation kitchen. Our outdoor space consists of a physical play area, cosy corner, large sand and ball pit, a sensory garden and role play area.

Our Tulips room is made up of two large rooms, a cloakroom and a private toilet and changing area. The room has direct access to two secure outdoor play areas. One of which is sheltered to allow access in all weathers. Each room is carefully planned to ensure it meets the need of our toddler age children.

Our Poppies room is made up of two large rooms, a cloakroom and a private toilet area. The room has direct access to two outdoor areas. The rooms offer a wide range of play and learning activities to enhance your child’s development through the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Eat Well, Be Well

We encourage healthy eating here at Summerfield Day Nursery and we carefully plan and cook our meals to ensure that all the children are getting a healthy well-balanced diet. Fruit and water are available throughout the day and nutritionally balanced meals are provided. We adhere to your individual dietary requirements and all staff have allergen training so we can confidently provide food for all children with allergies.

We support families through all stages of weaning and are on hand to offer help and advice for those ‘fussy’ eaters. The meal times are relaxed and provide many learning opportunities for children of all ages and stages. We encourage children to try a variety of foods from various cultures and are fully inclusive of individual needs.

Children are also encouraged to take an active role in baking and cooking activities, giving them an understanding of the food we are eating and providing fantastic learning opportunities. Menus are planned seasonally and are on a three-week rota so there is always a large variety of foods on offer.
